English TV actor & writer Rodney Bewes was originally from Bingley in Yorkshire. Despite childhood asthma keeping him house-bound until the age of 12, he achieved his 1st role at the age of 14 going on to study drama at RADA; gaining fame in the 1960s & 1970s playing Bob Ferris in BBC sitcom The Likely Lads and in its sequel, Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads? - which drew audiences of up to 27m. In 1984, he became a member of the Doctor Who cast during Peter Davison's run as the Time Lord, portraying a humanoid named Stien in Resurrection of the Daleks. His final television appearance was in 2009 in an episode of Heartbeat. Bewes sadly passed away just 6 days before his 80th Birthday on 21 November 2017.
