On 26 June 2017, the Royal Navy’s largest ever warship, HMS Queen Elizabeth, was launched, being put to sea for the first time. The operation to move the warship from Rosyth to the Forth Estuary took almost four hours. Commanding Officer Captain Jerry Kyd, led over 700 sailors and 200 industry contractors on the ship’s maiden voyage. The aircraft carrier has been under construction since 2014 and was officially
named on 4 July of that year.
