Jean Harlow, born Harlean Harlow Carpenter, was an American film actress and sex symbol of the 1930s. Harlow became a leading lady for Metro Goldwyn Mayer, starring in a string of hit films. By the late 1930’s she had become one of the biggest movie stars in the world, often nicknamed the ‘Blond Bombshell’ and the ‘Platinum Blonde’. Harlow died at age 26 during the 1937 filming of Saratoga. The film was completed using body doubles and released a little over a month after Harlow's death.
