Queen Elizabeth II re-opened the National Army Museum on 16 March 2017, after a redevelopment of over £23 million. The Queen & Duke of Edinburgh toured the museum which opens to the public late March and Her Majesty viewed her own army uniform from when she held the honorary commission of Brigadier, in the Women’s Royal Army Corps, between 1949 & 1953. The Queen and her husband met donors in the attractions café area, followed by a meeting with volunteers outside the soldier’s gallery, before unveiling a plaque to mark her visit.
