Alfred Hawthorne ‘Benny Hill’ born January 1924, was an English actor and comedian best known for his long running television show, The Benny Hill Show. He was a prominent figure in British entertainment for almost four decades, with his show being one of the greatest successes in television comedy. After the Second World War, he became a radio performer with his first television appearance coming along in 1950. He also appeared in films, including, The Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the Italian Job. Hill never married or had children and never owned his own home or had a car. Hills health declined in the late 1980’s and on 20 April 1992, he died at the age of 68.
