‘Casino Royale’ was a spy film, based on Ian Fleming’s first James Bond novel and was released in the UK on 13 April 1967. The film stars David Niven as the ‘original’ James Bond. The plot follows Sir James Bond 007, a legendary British spy, as he comes out of retirement to investigate the deaths and disappearances of many international spies. He soon comes up against villains Dr Noah and SMERSH, with the story telling the tale of Bond’s antics and struggles to solve the case. The film starred some well-known names such as Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress and Woody Allen. It was a global success grossing $41.7 million worldwide.
