Lady Windermere’s Fan, A Play About a Good Woman, is a four-act comedy written by Oscar Wilde. The play was first produced at the St James’s Theatre, London on 22 February 1892, although it was first published in 1893. The story follows Lady Windermere and her husband. By showing in St James’s, Wilde was targeting the upper-middle class audience. The Premiere was followed by a speech by Wilde, who was answering the calls of ‘Author!’ from the audience.
