George VI was King of the United Kingdom & the Dominions of the British Commonwealth from the 11 December until his death on 6 February 1952. He married Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon in 1923, they had two daughters, Elizabeth and Margaret. In his later years of reign he was beset by health problems and upon his death was succeeded by his eldest daughter. On 15 February 1952 following a state funeral, King George was laid to rest at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
