My Fair Lady is a musical about a Cockney flower girl named Eliza Doolittle who takes speech lessons from Professor Henry Higgins so that she can become a lady. It hit Broadway in 1956 becoming an instant sensation & going on to set a record for the longest run of any major musical theatre production in musical history. The Broadway production was followed by a hit London production, a popular film version & numerous revivals. The original Broadway, London and film versions all starred Rex Harrison. It has been called ‘the perfect musical’.
