Born in Natal, South Africa, in 1928 but brought up in Kent, Bob Holness enjoyed a career in entertainment spanning almost 60 years, working as an actor, journalist, radio and TV presenter, and most famously, as Quiz Master of ITV's Blockbusters from 1983 to 1994. He died on 6 January 2012 aged 83.
